Feed live generator, boiler, cold storage and transformer data into your existing SCADA or building management system through a secure, read-only REST API or MQTT stream. No extra gateway hardware. Nothing that can control your equipment.
Both are read-only and available to every EddyBits customer. Use one or both.
A standard HTTPS and JSON API. Ask for the latest value of every parameter, pull history for reporting, or list active alerts.
Subscribe to a live topic and receive each reading within seconds, with no polling. A certificate scoped to your company (or a single device) keeps other customers' data out of reach.
In your EddyBits portal, open Users & Roles, then API Access, and create a key. Choose which sites and devices it can see, and an expiry if you want one.
Use the OpenAPI specification to map the parameters into your SCADA or BMS tags. Each parameter has a name and a unit.
Revoking a key stops it on the next request. For MQTT, request access in the portal and we issue your certificate.
| Endpoint | Returns |
|---|---|
/devices | Your devices with type, site, connection state and last-seen time |
/devices/{id}/latest | The most recent value of every parameter, with units |
/devices/{id}/readings | History for chosen parameters, raw or averaged, with paging |
/alerts | Active, acknowledged or resolved alerts with severity and time |
/sites, /parameters | Your sites, and the full list of parameter names and units |
The API accepts read requests only, and MQTT credentials can subscribe but never publish. Your integration can watch your equipment, not operate it.
Each key sees only the sites and devices you select, is rate limited, and can expire. Keys are stored as one-way hashes and shown once when created.
All traffic uses TLS. MQTT uses mutual certificate authentication, so only your system can connect to your feed.
Ready-made gateways for Modbus TCP, OPC UA and BACnet, plus webhooks, are in development. Tell us what your system needs and it shapes what we build first.
Get in touch and we will confirm what is included in your plan. The integration needs no additional hardware on site.
No. Access is read-only today, for safety. You can read values and alerts, but nothing you connect can operate equipment.
Anything that can call an HTTPS JSON API or subscribe to MQTT, including Ignition, Node-RED, Niagara, Telegraf and most modern SCADA, BMS and historian software. For systems that need Modbus TCP, OPC UA or BACnet directly, gateways are on our roadmap.
Devices report every few seconds to a few tens of seconds. The MQTT stream delivers each reading as it arrives, and the API returns the latest reading on request.
